I guess you could say that it is about not knowing. I was thirty-five years old when I learned that my father had been married before. I also learned at that time that there were children from that marriage. I have brothers and sister somewhere out there that I have never met.
I guess this began my passion for genealogy and a search for my missing siblings. This plus the fact that I had always heard my father tell me that our family on his mother's side were Native Americans.
I began to search for my missing family members, without much success. With the coming of internet, I figured this would help in my search for information on my family lineage and my missing siblings. As I searched, I found very little information on my father's side (The Lacy Family). Even talking with family members didn't provide much information.
I was fortunate on my mother's side (The Bonin Family), a family member, Jestnair J. Bonin, of Loreauville, Louisiana held the same passion and had for many years researched this family line. When I was a young boy he gave me the first information I received on my mother's family. This is where it all began.
For many years now I have kept little pieces of paper, photographs, ring binders, envelopes with notes and letters. Bits and pieces of our family with little or no organization about my family. I decided to put it all together and make it available for others.
My hope is that with this information available to everyone, I will learn more about my family's history.
Continuing with my search, I picked up information on others family names, which are associated to mine through marriage. I have included these names in my web site. As I complete the information, I will include their genealogy in this web site.
